Organization:

Set up a vertical line of three cones outside of the penalty area, and a horizontal line of four cones 25 yards from goal. Place a single cone five yards behind that line in the center. A Feeder is stationed off to the side on the goal line.

Description:

The shooter performs a two-part sequence:

1. The shooter dribbles out through the vertical line of cones and then stops the ball in the center of the horizontal line of cones. Then he/she runs a figure eight around the pair of cones to the right and picks up the ball, dribbling around the far cone and back. The shooter then stops the ball again and runs a figure eight around the other pair of cones. Finally, they pick up the ball one last time, dribble through the vertical line of cones, and finish.

2. After shooting, players turn and run through the vertical line of cones and out to the far cone. Then they run back to goal, receiving a pass from the Feeder before reaching the vertical line of cones. The shooter then dribbles through the cone line, and finishes on goal again.

Focus Points:

  • Sharp changes of speed and direction with the dribble.

  • Create a good shooting angle as you clear the last cone.
