Set Up:
There are 15 players set up in the attacking third, playing 6v4 in the midfield zone, with two additional defenders starting inside of the six-yard box. Play begins in the midfield zone, with the attackers looking to play a thru ball into the attacking zone. When the ball is played in, two attackers cross over with the pass and attack the goal 2v2. The defenders in the six-yard box can release as soon as the ball crosses the 18. If the defenders win the ball, they can score on the small goals placed out on the flanks. On goals and balls put out of play, the Feeder re-starts the drill in the midfield zone.
Coaching Points:
1. Play in a one and two touch rhythm and get the ball off of your foot.
2. Find a wide position, and then make a blind side run in behind the defender.
3. Control the thru ball right away, and then look up to find the defender.
Progressions:
1. Three attackers may cross over with the thru pass.
