Set Up:
There are 12-15 players set up in the attacking third, playing 3v3 with lines starting at the cones. To begin play, the goalkeeper plays a driven ball between the cones to either one of the two central attackers. All players release with the goalkeeper’s first touch. The attackers must go around the cones before they can go to goal. If the defenders win the ball, they can score on the two small goals set up outside of the penalty area. After a goal, the goalkeeper re-starts play with the next set of attackers and defenders.
Coaching Points:
1. As the first defender closes down on the ball, lay it off to the outside.
2. Look for the overlap and the takeover combinations if the attack stalls.
3. Attack the goal at speed, before the third defender can rotate into the center.
Progressions:
1. The attackers can go thru the cones, straight to goal.
