6v3, Inside the Box
6v3, Inside the Box
Set Up:
There are ten players set up inside of the penalty area, playing 3v3 plus three neutrals. The attacking team tries to maintain possession inside of the penalty area and finish on goal. If the defenders (in red) win the ball, they become the attacking team. When goals are scored or when the ball is put out of play, the game is re-started by the Feeder. The three neutral players switch out with one of the teams every five minutes.
Coaching Points:
For Defenders:
1. Anticipate the next pass and be ready to pressure.
2. Drop straight back after your man passes off.
3. Never get beat 1v1.
For Attackers:
1. Fake the shot if the defender charges in.
2. Look for first time finishes on crosses and setbacks.
3. Use the entire penalty area and create space for 1v1s.
Progressions:
1. Limit the number of passes made before shooting.
2. First time finishes only.
