2v1 into 2v2 Into 2v1
2v1 into 2v2 Into 2v1
Set Up:
Eight players are set up on a field split into three zones, starting 2v2 in the central zone and 1v1 in the end zones. Play begins in the central zone, and the attacking team must make three consecutive passes before playing the ball into an end zone. When the ball is passed into an end zone, one attacker in the central zone crosses over to create a 2v1. From the end zone, one of the attackers must dribble the ball back into the central zone to re-form the 2v2. Also, attackers can pass from one end zone to the other and form a new 2v1.
Coaching Points:
1. After a 2v1 combination, immediately look to dribble out of your zone.
2. You need time to make the long pass from one end zone to the other. Don’t force it.
3. Maintain possession until a good opportunity to switch zones the ball materializes.
Progressions:
1. Dribble out after three passes.
