Three Player Finish, #2
Three Player Finish, #2
Set Up:
There are 12-16 players set up in the attacking third of the field, starting at the cones. A support player (Player 3) is stationed at the 18. To begin the drill, Player 1 wall passes with Player 2, and then plays the ball up to Player 3. Player 2 runs to goal, receives a layoff pass from Player 3, and finishes. Upon completion, the players rotate counter-clockwise, with 1 to 2, 2 to 3, and 3 to 1. After 5-10 minutes, Player 2’s starting position switches over to the other side of the field.
Coaching Points:
1. The layoff pass must be made square or backwards to keep the goalkeeper on his line.
2. Player 2 must hold his run and watch the play develop between Players 1 and 3.
3. All of the passes should be made with one touch.
Progressions:
1. Add a shooter on the left side of the field.
